Last week, Streetsblog reported [link] on the numerous transformations to Forsyth Street currently underway. Redesigns included eliminating parking spaces, converting to curbside parking, and re-tooling the traffic pattern (now all one way uptown). Such changes paved the way for a new 10-foot-wide pedestrian lane bordering Sara D. Roosevelt Park, from Hester to Houston. Apparently, this new lime-green walkway will become a proper sidewalk sometime in 2009. Indeed, much has changed in just a week. If you head over there, beware the construction site at 38 Delancey.
