In case you questioned whether rats roam free in the Lower East Side, here is the evidence. Rustling through the garbage outside Sheila’s Decorating on Orchard was a rat nearly six inches long, head to tail. At first it was scared, peaking its nose to assess the situation. But once it realized no threat existed, the firggin’ thing darted right into the middle of the sidewalk!
