Orchard Hell Building in Need of Reality Check
Hanging from the doomed Orchard Street Hell Building is a Misrahi Realty sign. Ordinarily this wouldn’t be too surprising, especially in this neighborhood. But upon closer inspection, the banner advertisement is undoubtedly misleading. Compared to the building on which it hangs, the end-product shown in the image, dubbed The Orchard, is a false portrayal of reality. The pipe dream being sold resembles a sterile suburban mall, complete with a “bar, ristorante, cafe, and clothier.” All we see, though, is a long-vacant construction site with a half-built structure.
