Skyline at Dusk
We took advantage of Saturday’s summer weather to scope out the skyline from atop the Municipal Parking lot on Ludlow/Essex Street at dusk. The facility itself is pretty run-down – empties in the stairwell and a perpetually broken elevator – and is still very much an authentic symbol of seediness.
From six stories up, the standard tenement height, there isn’t much of a 360-degree view. In all directions, the rooftop perspective is predominantly cluttered by nascent developments like Blue, the Hotel on Rivington, and the Ludlow Residence.
Speaking of the Ludlow Residence, that pretentious dorm terrace seems far from completion. Tarps and floor boards are scattered haphazardly.
