In a taxi fleet seemingly dominated by the Ford Crown Victoria, it’s somewhat surprising to see hybrid Toyota Camrys. This particular cab was parked near the intersection of Market and Madison Streets.

One possible explanation is the relatively recent TLC approval of lease cap (driver’s fee to owner) modifications to incentivize the purchase of clean-air, fuel efficient vehicles.
