The Sunshine Streak – Away We Go
Last night, for the third time in a month, the Sunshine Cinema unrolled the red carpet, and played host to the premier of Away We Go. Shortly after 6:00 PM, the sidewalk outside the box office became increasingly crowded, and as expected, negotiating the mob was quite challenging. But we were still able to snap a few quick photos of co-star (and staunch Michigan proponent) Jeff Daniels. There were no run-ins with burly security dudes at this event.
Most memorable, though, were the street-level reactions to Jeff Daniels’ presence. At least three separate camera-toting passers-by pointed and said, “he’s the guy from Dumb and Dumber.” While a great movie in its own right (kick his ass, Seabass), we’re not sure he sees it as such a career-defining moment.
Written by Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida, the film focuses on an expecting couple that travels around the country looking for a perfect place to start a life. It stars Maya Rudolph and John Krasinski.
