Reinerland Jewelry Open at 90 Stanton

The EdgeNY exodus continues.  Yes, indeed.  Since EdgeNY, the once promising boutique that saw the rise (and fall) of emerging designers on Bleecker Street, announced it was closing at the end of the year, designers have been scouring downtown for retail space.  Included among the refugees were Cristina Taranu and Reiner Mengesdorf, a husband-wife team behind Reinerland Jewelry, now open at 90 Stanton Street, adjacent to Tropical Hair Salon. The pair comes to the former art gallery armed with their brand of sterling silver and solid gold jewelry line (no, none of that plated crap).  Official launch will be on December 2.

Joining Reinerland are hat designers CharmNYC, also a husband-wife team. And while new to the Lower East Side, the jewelry joint is not the first EdgeNY alumnus to set up shop here.  Lois Eastlund (just celebrated one year) and the recently opened Attitude by Jeanne are just around the corner.
