A real estate listing surfaced on Craigslist yesterday for 147 Orchard Street, the tiny storefront which was most recently occupied by Guitar Man (now headquartered at 116 East Seventh Street).  The space has been vacant for over four months, with “for rent” signs hanging behind drawn shutters.

Per Craigslist:

On Historic Orchard’s pedestrian mall sector.
Owner offers/now/no broker fee.
Awesome remodeled store on busy spot with lots of pedestrain and vehicular traffic and available on street parking.
Yes Orchard is alive and coming stronger.
Come be a part of the renaissance, bring your business and stay.

This great NYC enclave will hive you lots of upside.
Great layout with 350sf street level retail and 300sf clean basement with access from within.
Tall ceilings, wood floors, exposed brick feature wall,
nice storefront with security rollup gate.

By renaissance, do they mean wholesale destruction of communities and buildings, stalled construction projects, umpteen boutique hotels, and widespread vacancies?  Orchard Street north of Delancey is alive, but noticeably struggling.  Just a thought.
