It’s Katz’s Vs Second Avenue Deli on Food Wars

Earlier this week, we reported that the Travel Channel will be filming inside Katz’s Deli this weekend.  The casting call which hangs in their window seeks “superfans” who can be “on camera loud and proud to tell viewers everywhere why Katz’s Deli is the best.”  It’s for an upcoming episode of Food Wars, and we’ve finally pinned down the guts of the program.

According to show producers, this competition is between two New York City deli institutions for bragging rights over the best pastrami sandwich.  Katz’s vs Second Avenue Deli.  One segment of the show will reportedly be filmed in the Tenement Museum, in which the chefs discuss the rules of the game.  The verdict will be reached at The Delancey on Tuesday night!
