263 Bowery Exposes Itself
In the race toward completion, the Karl Fischer development at 263 Bowery is finally catching up to the neighboring Sperone Westwater Gallery, which recently unveiled its new metallic trim and corrugated siding. The black netting and scaffolding are history, liberating both building and sidewalk.

Indeed, by Saturday afternoon, 263 Bowery had disrobed to expose its full-floor windows and new gray, slat-like facade. We also had a peek behind the front-door plywood at what will likely become the foyer. Verdict: nearly two years in the making, it’s a fairly drab building of modest height, with personality paling in comparison to the adjacent old-world tenements.
