Sticker Bandit Misses the “Old Oil Spill”
More anti-BP street sentiment. Indeed, one sticker bandit is feeling a bit nostalgic, but in a tongue-in-cheek sort of way. Plastered to the base of a light post at the northwest corner of Bowery and Rivington is this anti-oil spill sticker. It simply reads, “I miss the old oil spill.”

The “old oil spill” in this instance refers to the Exxon Valdez disaster, the effects of which are still felt more than twenty years later. Under closer scrutiny, though, the “I Miss” lettering is backed with the BP logo, while the “the old” lettering is backed with Exxon.
