248 Bowery is So Tall

Pretty much the only movement at the stalled 250 Bowery worksite in the last six months has been from street writers and bill pasters. But one particular vandal scored the money shot.

The recently-painted facade of 248 Bowery is now tagged “I’m So Tall,” giving YOINK some much-needed company.  Looks like 248 can finally ride the big-boy rides at the amusement park.

Once upon a time in 2008, hopes were high for 250 Bowery.  It was to be an ambitious eco-friendly hotel by FLAnk Architects that boasted crazy geothermal wells. Then the economy hit the fan, and it went from FLAnk to fail in no time.  These days, the lot is nothing more than a glorified junkyard-slash-rat den stocked with plenty of old tires, trash, and overgrowth.
