38 Delancey Removes Last of the Plywood
The last of the rotten plywood was finally removed from the 38 Delancey development over the holiday weekend. All that remained up until that juncture was the fence which blocked the incredibly spacious foyer. Indeed, the Forsyth Street entrance has high ceilings and plenty of lego light fixtures.

The glass doors are open. Yesterday morning, we spotted a pair of doormen chatting at the front desk. No tenants yet. And no retail presence in the ginormous ground floor space.

With reason. Since its inception, the condoplex has been riddled with problems and delays, so why should the grand opening be any different? Exactly. The DOB seemed to agree, as they issued a full stop work order to the building owners on September 3.

According to StreetEasy, all but five of the fifty-five units are either sold or currently in contract. Guess all the bloody price-chopping worked.
