Violet & Daisy Filming on Stanton Street Tomorrow

Filming for Violet & Daisy resumes tomorrow after a two-week hiatus from the neighborhood. The bulk of the shoot will be centered on Stanton Street between Orchard and Essex.  But a chunk of Essex Street has also been staked out, between East Houston and Rivington.

Violet & Daisy is a film about teen assassins written and directed by Geoffrey Fletcher (Precious).  It stars James Gandolfini, Alexis Bledel, and Saoirse Ronan.

Just this past Friday, Vulture caught up with Ronan, who plays the part of Daisy in the film. Here is an excerpt from the brief interview:

Violet & Daisy is quite surreal. It’s these two girls who are like eighteen or nineteen, but they act quite young. They only stay together and they don’t really step outside their little bubble. They kill people, but it’s very cold, and it’s just kind of what they do.

Looks like the Lower East Side will play a major background role here…
