On the Bowery Wins Film Heritage Award
2010 truly was a banner year for Lionel Rogosin’s classic documentary film, On the Bowery. Limited engagements at the Film Forum in September, and then again in November, fostered a great deal of renewed interest in the Bowery of yore, both locally and nationally. And of course, some pretty modest box office receipts.

More good news transpired over the weekend, during the forty-fifth annual National Society of Film Critics Awards. On the Bowery was selected as one of six films to receive the Film Heritage Award. Well deserved!

As previously reported, the Landmark Nuart Theatre in Los Angeles will host a weeklong screening beginning January 21.
