One Mile House Letter to 10 Delancey Residents
One of the more notable items on tonight’s Community Board 3 SLA agenda is a new bar at 10 Delancey Street called One Mile House. This location was last occupied by AA Awning & Sign, which vacated the premises in April 2009. It’s been dormant ever since.

If the brothers Martin and Mark Whelan have their way, a new Irish pub of sorts will open here. The pair are best known for their Herald Square collection of nightspots – Stout, Maggie’s Place, and St. Andrews. As Lo-Down reported last week, the applicants seek a full service liquor license for an establishment that would house 17 tables and a backyard patio. With regard to the latter item, new announcements were taped to the gates over the weekend to inform residents of the probable noise issues.

The letter reads as follows:
Tenants of 10 and 12 Delancey
My partners and I are [sic] would like to put a restaurant in the ground floor of your apartment building. The restaurant would serve food and alcohol which involves applying for a on premise liquor license. We would also like to utilize the small patio area in the rear of the building. We would cover the patio with a awning to reduce noise. This has resulted in zero complaints at our other restaurant that also has tenants living above it. The patio area will never be open past 10 pm.
