The Children’s Place Relocating to 126 Delancey
An ominous cloud of sorts has been hanging over 146 Delancey for many years. Literally. Leasing signs are an almost permanent fixture at this former home of the Loew’s Delancey Theatre. In fact, just recently, more ambitious tactics to advertise the space were employed, including a large banner stretched across the marquee and a new storefront flag. The aforementioned signage all seemed to suggest that Children’s Place would eventually be displaced. But nothing ever came of it. Until now.

The Children’s Place is currently amidst a one-block relocation to 126 Delancey, the big-box retail unit at the foot of Blue Condos. Even though RKF still claims the space as available “for rent,” in-store fixtures visible behind the brown paper indicate otherwise. It’s a clear giveaway. While the official website confirms the new location, a store employee informed us that it’s indeed a move and not a second neighborhood location. Business should be up and running at 126 Delancey by the end of March.

And what of the vacated real estate? With its precarious position sandwiched between a Burger King and an AT&T Wireless outlet on one side and a Dunkin Donuts on the other, it doesn’t seem like an upscale occupant would jump at this opportunity…
