The second floor of 208 Bowery is home to the Guilded Studio, which has been known to host sample sales and pop-ups in the recent past.  But it’s also on the list of the threatened.  Last year, both 206 and 208 Bowery had a brief scare thanks to a pair of eviction notices and fears of demolition.  Luckily the Landmarks Preservation Commission stepped in to hear the case, which is still pending.

Back to the task at hand, though.  Beginning with a nighttime kickoff party on May 5, the Guilded Studio will feature a pop-up shop by a new West African-inspired “sustainable women’s apparel line” called Afia.  The temporary Bowery boutique will run for three days on two consecutive weekends and also feature threads from Proud Mary Textiles and thrift jewelry from artisan Julianna Viezzetti.

The Afia pop-up will be selling on May 6-8 and May 12-15 on the second floor of 208 Bowery.
