“Arbitrage” Filming on Canal Street Tomorrow
For the last month or so, filming for a new big-budget thriller dubbed Arbitrage has been predominantly relegated to the Times Square environs. But tomorrow, the production is moving downtown. All the way to Chinatown. Near the junction of Canal and Centre Streets, to be specific. Dozens of pink “no parking” signs were taped to much of the street furniture all week.

Arbitrage is being touted as a drama-thriller that focuses on the hedge fund industry. Nicholas Jarecki is pulling double duty as screenwriter and director for the feature, which stars Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon. The basic plot surrounds Gere as a hedge fund manager who races against time to sell his trading empire to a major bank before a fraud is revealed. Sounds like it could be another Wall Street/Boiler Room type film.
Anyway, if this sounds like your cup of tea, check out Jarecki’s Twitter handle, as he’s quite active with filming updates and such.
