Bag Vacating 94 Orchard Street
From the look of it, Bag is about to be sacked. Late last week, the 94 Orchard Street satellite store quietly gained a simple marquee leasing sign. This latest news lends credence to the notion that the average shelf life for neighborhood boutiques is seemingly two years.

Indeed, the Nolita-based Bag barely survived two years at this location, having followed in the wake of Shop’s departure in the summer of 2009. We can probably expect another trendy establishment to follow. The million dollar question now, however, is whether the eventual replacement carries a monosyllabic name. Perhaps a lingerie joint called Bra? Belt? Blouse? Bunk.
Any other suggestions, dear readers?
