Coming Soon: Rivington Tattoo at 175 Rivington Street
Against the odds, old-world retail diversity still flourishes on the eastern frontier of Rivington Street, past Clinton. Corporate franchises and their parasitic offspring haven’t quite pushed out the selection of mom-and-pop bodegas, hair salons, pawn shops, and eateries. At least not yet. Authentic might be too strong a word, but it’s close.

Now Boogie reader NW informs us that a new tattoo parlor is rather quietly preparing to launch at 175 Rivington. The under-the-radar ink spot is aptly called Rivington Tattoo, as evidenced by the new window leafing and signage. Workers were out this past weekend tinkering and branding the storefront. No word just yet on opening date, but probably very soon.
