New Rag & Bone Annex Now Open; Mural Shredded

Rag & Bone officially unveiled its third and latest conquest at 77 East Houston last Thursday evening.  Just in time for Fashion’s Night Out and the ensuing Fashion Week.  It was a bit of a rush job toward the end there, but the annex is operational.

The same can’t be said about the canvas around the corner on Elizabeth Street, as the embattled mural space has recently taken on another identity.  Thanks to Hurricane Irene a couple weeks ago, Gaia’s months-old wheat-paste rooster was beaten to oblivion.  Paper was in tatters, and the Nicholas Forker astronaut (nay, Action Man) was partially visible beneath.  But a dose of frontier medicine manifested in the form of some red-inked skull action. With wavy hair.  So, at the moment, three separate pieces are simultaneously interacting…
