Home Cafe is Espresso Bar at 250 Broome

In direct view of its future cafe competition across the street at 88 Orchard, another java spot is poised to open.  As first reported back in July, a new espresso bar is to occupy the east storefront of 250 Broome Street, formerly La Barra.  For a good three months, ambiguous signs promised “the best espresso for those who wait.”  Then the sidewalk shed arrived.

Yet all the while, the new endeavor boasted no identity of the sort, only some stray graffiti art.  Earlier this week, however, we chatted with contractors on site who informed us that the coffee shop is reportedly called Home Cafe.  And it’s due sometime by the end of the month.

We can just imagine the influx of marketing copy now – there’s no place like Home to get your caffeine on.  Or something to that effect…
