Model Tyson Beckford Hosting Friday Nights at Chrystie 141
Chrystie 141 is the new, albeit unoriginal, namesake for the four-month-old club at the southwest corner of Delancey and Chrystie Street. Its first incarnation was a false-start called Club Mystique, which led one commenter to quip that it sounded like a “tittie bar in Western Pennsylvania.” Now, in a bid to secure a coveted spot in the ranks of the Lower East Side nightlife scene, the recently re-branded Chrystie 141 is pulling out the red carpet. So to speak. Management has chosen a celebrity to help attract the masses to this beleaguered B&T corner club, courtesy of nightlife entrepreneur Jeff Krauss.

According to a press release chock full of A-list name-dropping, male-model and actor Tyson Beckford is now reportedly hosting weekly Friday night parties at 141 Chrystie. We also learn that the rooftop will see the light of day sometime in the spring of 2012, giving boozers the opportunity of “a more relaxed atmosphere to patrons who may wish to chat, sip, and smoke against a backdrop of one of New York City’s most eclectic neighborhoods.”
