Billy’s Antiques Skeletal Remains Painted Blood Red
At the end of Billy’s elaborate
press conference funeral on the Bowery Saturday afternoon, the beloved proprietor mentioned that the skeletal remains of his eponymous antique shop would be painted red. Red blood for the fresh corpse.

Well, as promised, the exterior makeover of 76 East Houston is already underway. As of yesterday evening, half the bars were sporting the fiery new hue. There was also talk of keeping the coffin (final resting place for the tarp) behind the chain-link fence for a period of two months. The only thing we’ve seen in there since the weekend was the nude painting, which has since disappeared. Meanwhile, it’s still nice to see the sign hanging above the entrance…
