Casket Lying in State at Billy’s Antiques on the Bowery
The sad skeleton of the former Billy’s Antiques (sigh) is now completely slathered in blood-red paint, effectively setting the stage for the current neighborhood display. As first announced during the funeral stunt last weekend, the tent-toting wooden casket is now lying in state behind the chain-link fence at 76 East Houston. Amidst a pile of planks and other discarded structural elements (note the garbage on the coffin).

Will this casket be interred beneath the forthcoming two-story building slated for the parcel? Bowery ghosts, indeed…
