Many feared a closure would mean losing access to personal belongings. As such, some three hundred account-holders rushed to the landmark building to liquidate their safe deposit boxes during this frenzied period of financial uncertainty. Authorities were on scene to ensure safety, and no one was reported hurt. An HSBC spokesperson confirmed that the branch is NOT closing.
