JR x Liu Bolin Wheat-Paste Scraped from 11 Spring
It’s a universal truth – what goes up must certainly come down. But we’re not talking about gravity here. Indeed, shortly after JR and Liu Bolin bombed the western exposure of 11 Spring Street, the epic one-story paster was scraped into oblivion. Stopping by yesterday evening, the garage door area was bare. It’s back to bland on this borderland territory of the Lower East Side.

Before the mural was excised, however, JR was painted into his own artwork while Bolin snapped away.

The elaborate street stunt was actually promotion for an upcoming gallery exhibit at Eli Klein Fine Art on West Broadway. JR shot the photo, which features Bolin’s fingers and eyeball.
