Mitt Romney Street Spoof Returns to the Lower East Side

The Bowery is back in the conversation of national politics, specifically with regard to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Yes, indeed. The street artist behind those hilarious “Vote Honky” pasters – “ME” – has struck again, this time a mere block from the first placement on the Germania Bank Building.
Glued beside the entrance to the Sue Scott Gallery at 1 Rivington Street is a life-size version of the mockup, which features Mitt Romney piloting the Family Truckster with his roof-bound dog Seamus. The piece is definitely an homage to National Lampoon’s Vacation, coincidentally released the same year that Seamus was subjected to the elements.
