Rustic LES is exactly one week from opening on the frontiers of Ridge Street, a few months later than initially projected. Back in early May, the Moroccan-inspired eatery sought additional funding from the community via Smallknot to help complete the interior build-out. The goal of $8,000 was met earlier this summer, and remodeling continued behind a slew of faded newspaper clippings. Wood board signage arrived within the last couple weeks.

The Ridge Street restaurant marks the first brick-and-mortar establishment from Yassir Z.Raouli, owner of the Vendy-winning BistroTruck. It’ll reportedly boast nineteen seats and a backyard area. Press materials reveal that the menu, reproduced below, features “modern takes on homestyle cooking, including a mix of familiar and not-so-familar foods.” Dishes include roasted bone marrow, lamb and chicken merguez, and fried sardines.

Rustic’s wine and beer license is still pending with the State Liquor Authority, no thanks to a denial from Community Board 3 for being on a residential block.
