Pathmark Reopens on Cherry Street, But Running on Generators

The storm surge from Hurricane Sandy last Monday night effortlessly washed into the parking lot of Pathmark, sidelining the already ill-fated establishment for days. However, a Boogie tipster stopped by yesterday and noticed that the supermarket is now open, albeit without power. The basement reportedly flooded big-time and the electric is totally effed. We are told that they’re only selling non-perishables (bread, cookies, and fruits) and other sundries like stationery and greeting cards (American Greeting cards 50% off).
Considering this Pathmark location was already slated to close at the end of December, it’s quite possible that they just don’t restock and shutter earlier. No word on that yet.
