Mark your calendars footie fans, because a date has been set for Steve Nash’s annual Showdown in Chinatown, benefiting the Steve Nash Foundation. As in the past, this eight-a-side street football match will be held at Sarah D. Roosevelt Park. This year it’s on June 26 with a 6:30pm kickoff, and after-party details TBA.

Last year proved to be a great turnout and a good time had by all. Half of the fun is not knowing the roster beforehand (it’s not fully announced until game time), but it’s always jam-packed with NBA players and famous footballers alike. Past players have included the likes of Kalou, Claudio Reyna, Giuseppe Rossi, Theirry Henry, Grant Hill, Chris Bosh, and Elton Brand, to name a few.

Tickets and VIP packages to the Steve Nash Showdown and Showdown After Hours are available here, as well as information on the charity, it’s dedication to assisting underserved children in their health, personal development, education and enjoyment of life, and how you can donate.

Bleacher seats are free, so get there early.  You can be sure we will be.
