Live Fast Dies Hard on Clinton Street

Live fast, shop hard. That was their motto. But no longer. Reliable punk rock boutique Live Fast is shutting down after almost a decade in business on the Lower East Side. Reason for the closure is par for the course these days – a sizable rent increase. A relative geezer.
Live Fast first opened at 57 Clinton back in 2005. Its perpetual sidewalk sales, interesting product, and flaming storefront always offered a welcome rebellious contrast to the upscale feel of this restaurant row. Its last day is March 29, and the store is currently offering a deep discount on its remaining inventory.
