CVS Moving Into Soho Billiards Space on East Houston

Chains, chains, chains. A corporate pharmacy is coming to the fringe of the Lower East Side, but not the one you might think. Word on the street is that the artist formerly known as Soho Billiards on Houston – evicted last November – is to become a CVS Pharmacy in due course. Repeat, a CVS Pharmacy. Sounds about right.
Real estate listings released for 42-56 East Houston soon after repossession had also included the corner Subway sandwich outpost and dry cleaners. And now that’s exactly whats happening. Both commercial tenants will fall to make way for CVS. The block-long parcel, with a footprint measuring roughly 11,500 square feet, was reportedly leased for an eye-popping $1,550,000 annual sum.
