Media renaissance woman Carrie Brownstein is everywhere lately. She has a third season of Portlandia in the bag, she showed up to bid her costar Fred Armison’s farewell to SNL, and now she’s the star of a pretty funny American Express commercial.

Brownstein portrays several characters in the thirty-second spot. She’s a no-nonsense-but-all-nonsense business man, grabbing a cone at the local Van Leeuwen ice cream truck. She’s a hungry hipster in a record shop. She’s a hypocrite in mom jeans. It’s a pretty clever bit.
Oh, and if you’re looking for Brownstein in more post-riot grrl action, check out Wild Flag, her grungy super group comprised of former members of Sleater-Kinney, Helium and The Minders. Their 2012 single “Bombs” isn’t too shabby.
