Bantam Replacement in the Works at 17 Stanton Street

Would-be bar owners are not heeding the warning on the security gate of 17 Stanton Street. That of not opening due to zombies within. Nevertheless, another bar is currently in the works for the spot formerly home to Bantam (nay, Elsinore) and Stanton Public.
One principal collecting signatures Friday afternoon explained to us that the as-yet-unnamed establishment will be a “neighborhood spot” that offers cocktails and fresh juices. Not a rowdy late night spot. Well, we’ve heard part of that pitch many times in the past. That currency, however, has been so devalued of late, it’s difficult to bank on it anymore.
There’s a backyard component to the business, but application materials reveal that it’ll be enclosed in plexiglass.
Applicants will appear before the SLA subcommittee of CB3 tonight to wrest full liquor privileges.
