L’asso Ends Its East Village Location on 1st Avenue

Word on the street is L’asso Pizza recently entered some difficult financial straits, and as a result, the newish East Village location at 107 First Avenue shuttered. Our tipster tells us that the under-the-radar closure transpired last week after slinging slices for just under two years. There aren’t any announcements on the gates, but a call to the HQ at 192 Mott confirms the closure.
The original outpost remains open for the time being, but we’ll keep you posted if anything changes.
L’asso first opened at the corner of Mott and Kenmare roughly six years ago. Its funky exterior remains an attraction in itself with colorful signage and a revolving selection of street art, notably from ASVP.
