Nam Son Restaurant at 245 Grand Gets Parody Treatment [VIDEO]

Nam Son is a longtime Chinatown standby at 245 Grand Street that serves up cheap, no-frills Vietnamese fare. Its name recently inspired a comical parody video written and directed by Lower East Sider Evan Silver that plays off the colloquial saying, “nah, son.” In it we see the fictional restaurant host answering questions from random pedestrians about the establishment. Think of it like a foodie Nick Burns.
Even though it seems like a promotional spot, Nam Son itself had zero involvement with the piece. The expletive-laden bit is completely fan-produced and is not affiliated with the restaurant.
