It isn’t often that there’s an opportunity to hear a movie soundtrack live, but apparently the Coen Brothers posses the pull to make that sort of magic happen. In an effort to promote their latest flick, Inside Llewyn Davis, they’ve assembled both period-specific and modern artists for a hootenanny at The Town Hall. Patti Smith, who headlined the final gig at CBGB is on the roster, as well as Jack White, The Avett Brothers, and Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes). Celebs from the film (Carey Mulligan, John Goodman) will also be in attendance.

The film is centered around the East Village folk music scene of the 1960s, and much of the filming happened in the neighborhood. It isn’t due to hit theaters until December 6, but this folk-fest is slated for September 29th, 7:30pm. Tickets go on sale to the public at large tomorrow at 12pm EST. Prices aren’t listed, but a portion will benefit the National Recording Preservation Foundation. Get ’em here.

Blockchain Company Anchors Sunshine Cinema Replacement Tower

The glassy office building that replaced the beloved Sunshine Cinema has its first tenant. And an anchor, at that. Solana Labs, a blockchain company, reportedly signed a lease for […]
