The Ron English ‘Cereal Killer’ Campaign at myplasticheart on Forsyth

If you’ve ambled past the myplasticheart designer toy shop on Forsyth lately, this candid “cereal killer” campaign may have caught your eye.  Known for his pulp culture jamming style, contemporary artist and former New Yorker Ron English has chosen his latest victim – kids’ cereal.

His altered depictions of 1980s breakfast icons display how characters such as Tony the Tiger would look if he actually ate his own “grrrrreeeeeat” cereal everyday. Certainly a game changer for the Trix Rabbit. The tubby images are surrounded by calamitous warnings of 0% nutrition, kindergarten cocaine, and the onset of diabetes.  Well, when you put it that way…

Unrelated, but another interesting bit about Ron English is that he designed album art for Slash and The Dandy Warhols.
