Gaudy Old Navy Billboard Deposed from NoHo

For the last week or so, there’s been a flurry of activity near that advertecture at Houston and Lafayette. The Old Navy multimedia billboard is finally coming down.
Old Navy first made a splash with this statement in June 2012. It became a year-long, illuminated fixture on the block, which directed pedestrians to its SoHo store, and broadcasted stupid slogans on the small LED screen.
The hardware removal is a serious undertaking, it seems, employing a fleet of cherry pickers and a detachment to dismantle.
Old Navy was preceded on this spot by a Levi’s billboard of gears that rarely worked, and a Playstation PSP placement that flooded the nighttime streets.
No knowledge just yet on the next company to pimp the space, but you better believe it’ll be as extravagant.
