Water Main Bust on Delancey Causes Traffic Hell [UPDATED]

It’s truly amazing how one fire hydrant can cause traffic across the Lower East Side. A busted hydrant on the south side of Delancey near Suffolk Street is spewing a steady stream of water into the roadway. And has been for quite awhile.
UPDATE: we are told a water main below the street burst earlier today. DEP is feverishly working to stop it.
As a result, the roads feeding into Delancey are clogged to shit, from Bowery/Houston down to Canal.
