At 250 Broome Street, Home Espresso Bar is a cozy respite from the other neighboring coffee shops, and the food options are no second thought here.

My pick is their Breakfast Special, bringing Grand Street’s Kossar’s onion bialy back to the mainstream. Toasted and filled with egg and cheese, you can pair it with a coffee between 8 and 11 AM all for only $6. Much better quality than a bodega egg and cheese, and not quite $10 for the same pairing at Irving Farm, this is the best deal on the block.

Note: While I love the yolk all runny as it bursts out the center, you may want to ask for it more well done if you are taking it on the road.
