Now in its fourth day, Swoon’s takeover of the Bowery graffiti wall is still a few furlongs from finish. Or so it appears. The proverbial torch was passed to the street artist on Monday after the conclusion of the three-month tenure of Revok and Pose.
Swoon’s mural is rather timely, channeling themes of Hurricane Sandy on this the first anniversary of the storm. So far we see an illustration of the A train (“rise above the challenge”), an allusion to the suspended subway service to the Rockaways, and a community message of “people helping people.” This one promises to be an uplifting project.
