The sisters Doyle packed up the goods and left the Lower East Side for good. That’s right, longtime Orchard Street jewelry stalwart Doyle & Doyle relocated to the Meatpacking District last week. The new, much larger location (2,000 square-feet) is at 412 West 13th Street, a block from the High Line.
Doyle & Doyle has been part of the local retail scene for thirteen years. The showroom at 189 Orchard opened in 2000, and quickly carved a neighborhood niche. Elizabeth Doyle revealed to New York Magazine in 2007 that the inspiration behind starting the business was the apparent lack of an antique or estate jeweler downtown.
The West 13th Street outpost opened last Friday.
