SHoP Architects’ Mulberry House at 290 Mulberry Street was welcomed by graffiti writer RAMER last week, the first to tag the facade. It remained in place for a couple days before the building crew scrubbed it clean.

Meanwhile, there’s not much else to report on this front. Even though the undulating shitbox is practically complete, it sits there stagnating, having relapsed after a brief period of activity last spring. Indeed, a new sidewalk bridge was installed a couple weeks ago to aid in some exterior repairs. Also of note is the ever-shifting opening date which is now pegged at the ambiguous “2013.” Previous site iterations carried the “spring/summer 2013” launch date.

The converted nondo carries nine three-bedroom rental units and a penthouse. Prices for the apartments range between $10,500 and $11,750 depending on whether you want access to outdoor space. Town Real Estate is listed as exclusive broker.

More babble from the press release over the summer:

Built with close attention to luxury living, these homes are complete with top-of-the-line condo finishes. The large open kitchens have Italian Schiffini custom built glass white cabinets with aluminum back splashes and granite counter tops, a Bosch oven with additional warming tray and 5 burner range, Faber exhaust, Liebherr refrigerator, garbage disposal, wine cooler, and Krauss sinks with Grohe faucets. The layout features open kitchens that are accessible to the dining area and perfect for entertaining guests.

Entry to each unit is through keyed elevator, and all of the apartments have walnut radiant heated floors, high ceilings, central air and enormous windows. Each residence comes equipped with its own Bosch washer/dryer, storage bin, and separate garbage chute for convenience. The outdoor space faces south, so residents have lovely light and the perfect spot for entertaining or enjoying a morning coffee or a nightcap.

This Mott Street ATM Gouges with 17% Fee

Storefront ATMs are nothing new. In fact, their ubiquity was so pronounced that the city banned freestanding ones from sidewalks about a decade ago. Visitors to Chinatown or the Lower East Side unfamiliar with bank ATM locations when in need of cash might not realize the exorbitant fees some ATM operators are charging. For instance, […]

Blockchain Company Anchors Sunshine Cinema Replacement Tower

The glassy office building that replaced the beloved Sunshine Cinema has its first tenant. And an anchor, at that. The arrival of San Francisco-based Solana Labs comes mere weeks after the sidewalk bridge outside 141 East Houston came down (thereby freeing Yonah Schimmel from bondage). Solana Labs, a blockchain company, reportedly signed a lease for […]
