Progress Report: Williamsburg Pizza Coming Together at 87 Allen

Hotel Chantelle co-owner Kyle O’Brien and business partner Aaron McCann are together opening the second outpost of Williamsburg Pizza at 87 Allen Street, as first disclosed here last summer. Three months of gut renovations and remodeling have yielded a nearly-completed product here at the corner of Broome Street.
The former Chinese-owned W & Y bodega and its innards are completely transformed. Sanitized, some might say. And while no specific Williamsburg Pizza branding is yet onsite, that tattered old-school canopy is gone. Looking behind the paper, meanwhile, reveals plenty of exposed brick and a checkerboard floor. Official launch can’t be too far off…

Williamsburg Pizza opened a year ago on Union Avenue and quickly gained steam. The team is looking to capitalize on their Brooklyn-based success by crossing the bridge into the Lower East Side.
