Thanksgiving is still two days out, yet Christmas tree vendors are already hitting the streets to peddle the pine. One of the larger outposts on the Lower East Side is stationed outside the Whole Foods Bowery. This year, however, the high-end grocer is taking the reins, so to speak. Vertical integration.
Whole Foods is now in charge of selling Christmas trees on this spot, seemingly usurping the position from independent proprietors of years past.
It’ll cost ya $50 apiece.
