The Wild Edibles team (from Murray Hill) is a few days shy of a week from opening Black Crescent at 76 Clinton Street. The new seafood restaurant is currently in previews/friends and family mode, and will reportedly begin serving the public next Monday. Brown window paper has been swapped for black blinds, which are generally open dayside.
Here’s a look of the interior:

The new 40-seat eatery, in the works since last March, joins the rash of oyster bars opening around the Lower East Side this year. Its pedigree also includes mixmaster Michael Reynolds and Wild Edibles’ wine director Carlos Baz.
76 Clinton Street previously housed Alias Restaurant, which served the neighborhood for more than a decade. Much of the painted facade (from Across the Universe) remains intact, but it’s been gussied up for new clientele.
