Here’s your chance to join the ranks of Community Board 3. If local civics excites you – and the prospect of hours-long committee meetings – then, batter up.
Borough President Scott Stringer announced yesterday that it’s open season for Manhattan Community Boards. There are reportedly 600 seats that are up for grabs. To be considered, you must meet the following criteria:
Attend a community board meeting. All Community Board meetings are open to the public. The full Community Board of each district meets once a month. Meetings rotate locations but stick to the same monthly times. Please see your individual Community Board section here and access your Community Board’s calendar for up-to-date information.

Download and complete the community board application and include a copy of your resume or biography.
Return the application to the Manhattan Borough President’s Office postmarked or hand delivered no later than February 1, 2014.
